Workplace injuries
For people hurt on the job in Washington: on a construction site, in a warehouse, on the road for work.
In Washington, an injury at work goes through the Department of Labor & Industries (L&I), which covers treatment and time loss. You usually can't sue your own employer.
When someone else caused the injury, such as another driver, a contractor or an equipment maker, there may also be a third-party claim. We handle the L&I claim and the third-party claim together, so one doesn't undo the other.
What we do
How we help
Help with your L&I claim
Filing, appeals of decisions, and time-loss questions.
Look for a third-party claim
Against whoever else caused the injury.
Keep the claims in step
L&I may need to be repaid from a third-party recovery. We work that out with you.
Deal with the insurers
Adjusters and claim managers talk to us.
Before we meet
What to gather
Bring what you have. Don't worry about what's missing; we can request most records ourselves.
Your L&I claim number
And any letters or decisions from L&I.
What happened, written down
Where, when, who was there, and what equipment was involved.
Names of witnesses
Coworkers or anyone else who saw it.
Bills and pay stubs
Medical bills and proof of the time you've missed.
